1.The Shiga Location office
This organization was established in 2002 in Shiga Prefecture and several of its municipalities to attract and support film production in the prefecture.
The organization's objectives are to promote the attractiveness of Shiga Prefecture through movies, television dramas, and other productions, inject dynamism into the regional areas in cooperation with the prefectural citizens, and increase tourism to Shiga, the land of lakes.
2.Activities
- Provide film-makers with information on locations in the prefecture and accompany them to those sites.
- Provide coordination with government agencies to receive the necessary authorization so as to facilitate productions, and with the people in the locations and other local areas.
- Dispatch extras
- Provide introductions to affiliated lodging facilities, ?carry-out meal companies at the filming site, and rental companies.
- Publicize productions on the website and through other media.
All of these activities will be performed at no charge.
